The History

The products and services offered by Trackflow were created by John Ewen, who has over 25 years experience in the electrical and instrumentation fields. John partnered with Stuart Stoddart, a proven Computer Systems Professional, to develop the Trackflow concept. In the first year of operation, John and Stuart developed the web based software platform and successfully integrated their system with existing products and services to measure, manage, and report power generation, power consumption, automatic load shedding of power based on market price, and the production of oil and gas.

Trackflow was launched in November 1999, with the installation of the product at Williams Energy liquids extraction plant in Cochrane, Alberta. The purpose of this particular application was to monitor the plant's power usage in an attempt to control costs. By monitoring power usage and market prices simultaneously, while alarming operators during periods of high cost, the Trackflow system proved successful in significant savings for Williams Energy. The North American power market has experienced tremendous fluctuations in price over the past year and the Trackflow system is proving to be very valuable in helping control operational costs.
